Paso Tauro is just part of the long climb up to Pico de las Nieves, on our way we will arrive at Ayacata, which is a small settlement

The Pico de las Nieves, just below 2,000m. is the highest point you can ride a bike in Gran Canaria island, at the top, the views are simply incredible.

Our return will be via Fataga and the Mirador de la Degollada de las Yeguas, another great spot to stop and admire the spectacular landscapes of the island.

The last kilometres will be on the coastal road, with the option of a van transfer directly to our hotel.

We will have a detour to the Cascada de Soria, this is a flattish and scenic road with a dead end. We will return to the main road and reach the top of Paso Tauro.

After reaching the summit, it is all downhill back to our hotel, nothing like a beautiful and not too strenuous ride ahead of what is coming tomorrow.

Day 3
71km / 1,500m.
CLIMB: Paso Tauro 911m. From Santa Agueda.
HOTEL: Hotel Cordial Playa Mogan

DAY 4: Valley of Tears.

We start our ride climbing up the Mirador de San Nicolas as we did on day 1. From there we will descend to La Aldea de San Nicolas. Here starts some scenic riding up the Barranco de la Aldea, up to the right turn near the Presa del Parralillo.

From the Presa, we will start the steep and spectacular road up the Valley of Tears. This is one of the most popular rides in Canarias, it is a combination of steep sections with great views and less steep sections with great views…hahaha. At the top, we reach the small town of Ayacata, the perfect place for a food and coffee stop after such a huge effort.

The best after reaching Ayacata, is the nearly 40 km descent back to our hotel, this is a great way to end an epic day on the bike.

Many professional riders spend 2-3 weeks at a hotel near the top of the Teide climb and do intensive altitude training ahead of the Grand Tours.

This is one of the bucket list rides in Europe. After we enjoy some time at the summit, it is all downhill back to our hotel.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Adapting to our current COVID-19 pandemic, and incoordination, with most of the hotel’s terms and conditions, we are adjusting our cancellation policy accordingly as follows:

If there’s a travel ban from your country to travel to the country you are doing a trip with us, you will receive a full refund on any payments you have made to SFIDA Cycling.

For any other reasons not related to COVID-19, the following will apply:

61 days before the trip starts – the return of your deposit.
60 days before the trip starts – the return of the full amount of the trip less the 300 Euros cancellation fee, plus any amount that we can’t recover from Hotels and other costs that we have already incurred in the trip preparation.
Less than 30 days before the trip starts – no amount will be refunded. We will, however, try to credit as much as possible towards a future trip. This depends on the amount that we can get back from the hotels and other costs that we have already incurred in the trip preparation.

We understand that it is difficult to commit too much in advance given the situation we are all living in.

For this reason, we won’t be holding any spots until the full deposit has been paid.

Hotels are now more strict with how many rooms they are willing to have on hold for groups, so until deposit payments are made we won’t be able to confirm your spot.
