Main Information
DISCOVER THE NORTH OF ITALY WITH SFIDA CYCLING.
We are proud to introduce you to another amazing trip in Italy. SFIDA Dolomites-Stelvio-Como covers some of the most fascinating places you can ride on a bike.
Starting in Corvara, in the heart of the Dolomites, and ending in Lake Como, we are covering a good number of epic climbs along the route we have carefully designed for you.
The trip is divided into three parts, Corvara-Dolomites, Bormio-Stelvio and Lake Como. One of the most convenient advantages of this new itinerary is that we start with three nights in Corvara.
We will be climbing some amazing climbs in the Dolomites: Valparola, Giau, Sella, Pordoi and the classics in the Alps: Stelvio (from Pratto and Bormio) and the Mortirolo. The end of the trip will take us up the Madonna dell Ghisallo and the infamous Muro di Sormano, all close to idyllic Lake Como.
As we are in Italy, expect the food and coffee to be great too. We have chosen excellent accommodation so you can relax after our challenging days on the road.
This itinerary, although challenging, will allow our clients to have time to enjoy leisure time in Corvara, Bolzano, Bormio, Bellagio and Como. Plus we will spend an afternoon in posh Cortina d’Ampezzo.
SFIDA Cycling only provides first-class support, so you just need to train and join us, we take care of all the details to make sure any trip with us is an unforgettable experience.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Adapting to the changes in international travel after the COVID-19 pandemic, we are adjusting our cancellation policy accordingly as follows:
120 days before the trip starts – the return of your deposit minus any expenses that we may not be able to reimburse.
90 days before the trip starts – partial refund of the amount of the trip less the 400 Euros cancellation fee, plus any amount that we can’t recover from Hotels, and other costs that we may have already incurred in the trip preparation.
Less than 60 days before the trip starts – no amount will be refunded. We will, however, try to credit as much as possible towards a future trip. This depends on the amount that we can get back from the hotels and other costs that we have already incurred in the trip preparation.
We highly recommend to contract travel insurance as soon as you pay the deposit and buy your international flights.
Make sure your travel insurance covers:
- Refund of the amounts paid in case you need to cancel for any reason.
- Covers the cost of possible damages to your rental bike. Check our T&C for this.
For these reasons, we won’t be holding any spots until the full deposit has been paid.
Hotels are now more strict with how many rooms they are willing to have on hold for groups, so until deposit payments are made, we won’t be able to confirm your spot.
Itinerary
After meeting the SFIDA Cycling team at Venice Airport, we will transfer by van to our hotel in Corvara.
Once we get there, we will check-in, have lunch and have a trip orientation chat.

Hotel: Posta Zirm Hotel.
Our excellent location in Corvara allows us to do some amazing rides.
In a relatively short distance, today we will conquer a couple of important climbs in the Dolomites.
Leaving Corvara we will ride down to La Villa, then turn left and climb up the Passo Valparola, descend the Falzarego and head towards Passo Giau.
The Giau is one of the classic Giro d'Italia climbs, we will climb the hardest side and then descend towards Cortina d'Ampezzo.
We will end up our ride in Cortina, one of the most famous Italian ski towns.
After our visit, we will transfer back to Corvara.
67km/2,000m.
Climbs: Passo Valparola, Colle Santa Lucia, Passo Giau.

From Canazei, we will continue our ride in the Val di Fassa until we find the turn right up to Passo Costalunga.
The top of the Costalunga is the entry to the South Tyrol. This region became Italian after the First World War, and still, German is used widely and many signs have both languages.
We will stay and visit Bolzano, the lively capital of South Tyrol.

Climbs: Passos Gardena, Sella, Costalunga.
Hotel: Magdalener Hof.
Today we will climb one of the most iconic climbs in Europe.
The Passo dello Stelvio is a bucket list climb, especially from the Prato side with its 48 hairpins.
Climbed for the first time in the Giro d'Italia in 1953, this mountain has become a cycling mecca for all the aficionados to this amazing sport.
After conquering the climb, we will enjoy an amazing descent to Bormio, where we will stay for the rest of the trip.

On our second day in Bormio, we will climb the Passo dello Stelvio from this side, this is another beautiful road, the same that we would have descended a couple of days ago.

One option, the "easier" one, will take our riders up the Grosio side. The second option is the classic Giro side from Mazzo.
Once all the riders are at the top, we will continue our ride via an amazing scenic road to Aprica.
We will end our ride in Aprica and after lunch we will transfer to Bellagio, on Lake Como.
In the afternoon, we will visit Bellagio, one of the nicest spots in this stunning lake.

And to end the trip, we are pleased to take our clients to another set of iconic climbs and places to visit.
From Bellagio we start climbing up to Passo del Ghisallo, at the top of this climb is the famous Cyclists Church with incredible views down to Lake Como.
Next to the Madonna del Ghisallo is the Cycling Museum, we will visit this place full of cycling memorabilia.
Afterwards we will continue our route, descending the Ghisallo and climbing up to Colma di Sormano. Half way up this climb there's a famous "short cut", the Muro di Sormano.
There will be the option to continue the ride up the usual steady road or take on the Muro.
This 1,7km average 17% segment is often used at the last Monument of the season at Il Lombardia.
Once all at the top, we will enjoy the thrilling descent back to the shores of the lake and head towards Como, the end of our riding on this trip.
