CANCELLATION POLICY:
Adapting to the changes in international travel after the COVID-19 pandemic, and in coordination with most of the hotel’s terms and conditions, we are adjusting our cancellation policy accordingly as follows:
120 days before the trip starts – the return of your deposit minus any expenses that we may not be able to reimburse.
90 days before the trip starts – partial refund of the amount of the trip less the 500 Euros cancellation fee, plus any amount that we can’t recover from Hotels, and other costs that we may have already incurred in the trip preparation.
No amount will be refunded less than 60 days before the trip starts. We will, however, try to credit as much as possible towards a future trip. This depends on the amount that we can get back from the hotels and other costs that we have already incurred in the trip preparation.
We highly recommend contracting travel insurance as soon as you pay the deposit and buy your international flights.
Make sure your travel insurance covers:
- Refund of the amounts paid in case you need to cancel for any reason.
- Covers the cost of possible damages to your rental bike. Check our T&C for this.
For these reasons, we won’t be holding any spots until the full deposit has been paid.
Hotels are now more strict with how many rooms they are willing to have on hold for groups, so until deposit payments are made, we won’t be able to confirm your spot.

Itinerary
After meeting the SFIDA team at Brussels Airport, we’ll transfer to Kortrijk, our headquarters for the Flemish week.
- Check in at the hotel, enjoy lunch, then join an orientation briefing.
- Set up bikes and head out for an afternoon ride featuring the legendary Oude Kwaremont plus a couple of nearby bergs.
Hotel in Kortrijk.
Day 2 combines a morning ride into the heart of Flanders Week with an afternoon visit to Ghent.
Morning: Ride to Oudenaarde & Ronde van Vlaanderen Centrum
- Ride from Kortrijk to Oudenaarde, passing classic bergs including the Koppenberg and Wolvenberg.
- Visit the Ronde van Vlaanderen Centrum (RVV Centrum) to explore Tour of Flanders history, memorabilia, and the on-site Peloton cafe.
- Collect your bib number for the Tour of Flanders Sportive the following day.
Afternoon: Ghent
- Return to the hotel, then travel to Ghent in the early afternoon.
- Visit the imposing Gravensteen Castle and enjoy a walk through this beautiful Flemish city.
- Travel back to Kortrijk after the visit.
One of the highlights of the trip has arrived: the Tour of Flanders Sportive.
Distances
The event typically offers four distances; for logistics reasons, we support the three shorter options.
- Recent example (2026): 79 km, 133 km, and 163 km.
- We’ll help you choose the distance that best matches your fitness and goals.
- When collecting your bib number, you can usually switch to a different route if needed.
Registration
Entries usually open online around October. Please let us know as early as possible if you plan to join the trip so we can guide you through registration.
Event-day logistics
- Early morning transfer to Oudenaarde, where the rides start and finish.
- Support on course is limited because vehicles can’t follow the route at all. We plan to position one van and one SFIDA Cycling support member at 1–2 strategic locations.
- Depending on group size, additional SFIDA staff may also be riding the Sportive accompanying clients.
- After everyone finishes, we’ll transfer back to the hotel by van.
What we’re watching
Today is about race-day atmosphere rather than riding: we’ll be roadside for the Tour of Flanders (women’s and men’s races), one of cycling’s five Monuments.
Race context
In 2027, the men’s race reaches its 111th edition, with the record at three victories—shared by eight riders.
- Eight riders share the record: Achiel Buysse, Fiorenzo Magni, Eric Leman, Johan Museeuw, Tom Boonen, Fabian Cancellara, Mathieu van der Poel, and Tadej Pogačar.
- Among them, Mathieu van der Poel and Tadej Pogačar are active riders and joint record holders.
- If either wins in 2027, he would move clear as the outright record holder of this race.
The women’s race is a newer addition (held alongside the men’s event), and each year the depth and competitiveness of the women’s peloton continues to rise.
Our plan
We’ll watch both races from a strategic viewing spot with easy access to food and, of course, Belgian beer—so you can soak up the atmosphere on one of the biggest sporting days in Flanders.
Another great day on the bike: we’ll ride through the landscapes around Ypres, combining iconic climbs with powerful First World War history.
Ride focus
- Ride the roads around Ypres, including the Kemmelberg.
- Follow terrain used in the In Flanders Fields semi-classic, ridden the week before the Ronde.
Plugstreets: key points
Near Ploegsteert, we’ll tackle the famous “Plugstreets”—three gravel sectors that add challenge and character to modern racing, while reflecting the area’s wartime past.
- Name origin: “Plugstreet” is an English nickname used by British soldiers who struggled to pronounce “Ploegsteert.”
- There are three sectors, often referred to as Hill 63, Christmas Truce, and The Catacombs.
- We’ll pass the Christmas Truce monument, marking the 1914 ceasefire and fraternisation along parts of the Western Front.
Finish & visit
We’ll finish the ride in Ypres, get changed, and then visit the In Flanders Fields Museum.
An unforgettable day of riding and history in Flanders.
A classic berg-hunting day, with iconic climbs around Ronse and Geraardsbergen—then a brewery visit to finish.
Ride focus
- Explore bergs and short climbs around Ronse and Geraardsbergen.
- Ride the Muur van Geraardsbergen—one of the most iconic climbs in Flemish racing—with the chapel at the top providing an unforgettable viewpoint.
- This area sits near the Wallonie border; we’ll loop back toward Ronse via rolling Walloon hills.
Afternoon
Visit the Verhaege Brewery in nearby Vichte.
Evening
Evening back in Kortrijk.
Ride to Ostend
We’ll ride to Ostend, one of Belgium’s best-known seaside resorts on the North Sea, following roads used in the Brugge–De Panne classic (typically held a couple of weeks before the Ronde van Vlaanderen).
In Ostend
- Lunch on arrival, then change into casual clothes.
- After our visit to Ostend, we’ll transfer by van to Bruges.
Bruges & evening
- Explore the canals, the Markt (Market Square), and the Burg (Burg Square), with free time to wander Bruges’ enchanting streets.
- Dinner in Bruges.
- Return to our hotel in Kortrijk afterwards.
Today is the last day for the riders doing the SFIDA Flanders Experience trip.
Today we say goodbye to riders on the SFIDA Flanders Experience and welcome those joining the SFIDA Roubaix Experience.
If you’re doing both weekends, let’s keep the party going.
On arrival in Roubaix, we’ll check in to our hotel.
In the afternoon, we’ll head out for a short ride that includes the final four cobbled sectors of Paris–Roubaix (listed here in reverse order):
- Carrefour de l’Arbre (5 stars)
- Gruson (2 stars)
- Willems à Hem (2 stars)
- Roubaix – Space Charles Crupelant (1 star)
It’s the perfect way to transition from the Flanders cobbles to the Roubaix ones.
Today is all about final preparation for tomorrow’s Paris–Roubaix Challenge.
We’ll travel by van to the start of our ride, lining up just before the feared Trouée d’Arenberg—pure cycling history.
Cobbled sectors (descending order)
- Trouée d’Arenberg (5 stars)
- Wallers à Helesmes (3 stars)
- Hornaing à Wandignies (4 stars)
- Warlaing à Brillon (3 stars)
- Tilloy à Sars-et-Rosières (4 stars)
- Beuvry-la-Forêt à Orchies (3 stars)
- Orchies (3 stars)
- Auchy-lez-Orchies à Bersée (4 stars)
- Mons-en-Pévèle (5 stars)
Across these ~50 km, we’ll ride some of the most iconic—and toughest—cobbled kilometres of the Paris–Roubaix Monument.
Afternoon: Roubaix logistics
Back in Roubaix, we’ll collect our numbers ahead of tomorrow’s Paris–Roubaix Challenge.
Overview
It’s a big day—one to remember.
Transfer
We’ll travel by van to the start early in the morning.
Route options
- Discovery — 70 km / 8 cobbled sectors: A more accessible option, with a unique finish in the Roubaix Velodrome a few hours before the professionals.
- Legendary — 145 km / 19 cobbled sectors: Take on the iconic Trouée d’Arenberg and many of the race’s most famous sectors, finishing in the velodrome.
- The Hell of the North — 170 km / 30 cobbled sectors: Ride all of the cobbles. For experienced riders only; average speed required is typically 28 km/h on the road and 14 km/h on the cobbles (around 50 km of cobblestones).
SFIDA-supported routes
To keep logistics manageable, we support the Discovery and Legendary routes.
Celebration
After we’ve all completed the Paris–Roubaix Challenge, we’ll celebrate with a meal at a restaurant in Roubaix.
Why it matters
Paris–Roubaix is the third Monument of the season—and for many fans, the pinnacle of the Spring Classics.
No other race matches its mix of history, hardship, and legend—and a win here can define a rider’s career.
Where we’ll watch
We’ll watch from the cobbles at a prime sector (to be confirmed), with the chance to see the pros fly past at full speed.
Storylines to follow
- Can Tadej Pogačar finally win Paris–Roubaix?
- Can Mathieu van der Poel take a record-equalling fourth victory?
- It’s the seventh edition of the Women’s race. With a different winner each year so far, will someone become the first to win twice?
Wrap-up
A fitting finale to our epic SFIDA Flanders–Roubaix trip.
Departure
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).
We expect to arrive by noon, so please plan any onward travel accordingly.
