Main Information
We have designed another great trip to one amazing destination: Sicily.
With up to seven UNESCO sites, this incredible Mediterranean Island has so many places of interest that it has been very challenging to put together an itinerary that can cover the most important tourist attractions and, at the same time, do some great riding.
We have decided to use four hotels for the length of the trip, this way we are spending two consecutive nights at every location.
The trip starts in Taormina and ends in Cefalu, in between, be ready to see some incredible places like the Taormina amphitheatre, Syracuse with its incredible Greek and Roman sites and Ortigia, Noto and all the Baroque villages like Ragusa Ibla, Modica, Scicli…
We decided to have a day off the bike, this way we can travel to Agrigento and visit the impressive Valley of Temples and transfer later to Cefalu, the idyllic coastal town that will be the end of our epic trip.
As usual, we will enjoy the best food Sicily has to offer and for sure the gelato, coffee and granita.
SFIDA Cycling provides first-class support in all our trips.
Note: A couple of days earlier, we will end our SFIDA Basilicata-Calabria trip, just across the Strait of Messina. This is a great opportunity to do back-to-back trips and continue your SFIDA dream.
Don’t hesitate to check with us and receive information on what we have planned for the two days in between trips.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Adapting to the changes in international travel after the COVID-19 pandemic, we are adjusting our cancellation policy accordingly as follows:
120 days before the trip starts – the return of your deposit minus any expenses that we may not be able to reimburse.
90 days before the trip starts – partial refund of the amount of the trip less the 500 Euros cancellation fee, plus any amount that we can’t recover from Hotels and other costs that we may have already incurred in the trip preparation.
If you need to cancel the trip less than 60 days before the trip starts, no amount will be refunded. We will, however, try to credit as much as possible towards a future trip. This depends on the amount that we can get back from the hotels and other costs that we have already incurred in the trip preparation.
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance as soon as you pay the deposit and buy your international flights.
Make sure your travel insurance covers:
- Refund of the amounts paid in case you need to cancel for any reason.
- Covers the cost of possible damage to your rental bike. Check our T&C for this.
For these reasons, we won’t be holding any spots until the full deposit has been paid.
Hotels are now more strict with how many rooms they are willing to have on hold for groups, so until deposit payments are made, we won’t be able to confirm your spot.
Itinerary
After meeting the SFIDA Cycling trip at the Catania Airport, we will travel to our hotel in Taormina.
Upon arrival, we will check in and have lunch and have a trip orientation meeting.
Once we have prepared our bikes, we will take our first ride on the trip.
We will ride up to Castelmola, which is part of the Borghi Più Belli d'Italia (BPBI). If the day is clear, we should have amazing views over the Etna.

As we will discover very soon, once you leave the coastal roads, it gets uphill quickly in Sicily.

Once back in Taormina, we will visit different places of interest before dinner.
